The moon is bright and shines in the black sky like a white flame in a sea of darkness. A man looks up at the moon with intense and menacing eyes. A blade is in his hands long and sharp and covered in specks of blood, from other nights. It is midnight the man makes his way through a neighborhood. It is a quiet suburban neighborhood like many others all over the world, he knows it well. He moves through it like a wolf in sheep’s clothing. The air is cold and humid, he does not feel…

Max and Beau were best friends, had been since the day they had met. In many ways, they couldn’t have been more different. Beau was popular and very good-looking. He was a great athlete particularly in baseball and was looked upon favorably by almost everyone. Max… Max was just different, he was very introverted and soft-spoken. He wasn’t disliked by any means most people seemed to not even know he existed. He was always scribbling in his notebook or had his nose in a book. The two had almost nothing in common, except for one thing, they…

The night is long and hot as hell. The heat is in the air and feels like sweat soaking itself onto the body. James is in bed watching tv trying to stay cool without a care in the world. He switches from streaming service periodically unable to decide on what to watch. He relents and goes to the kitchen to get himself an ice-cold drink. Before the refreshing drink can touch his lips he feels a chill. Every hair on the back of his neck stands up like a soldier at attention and a feeling of fear…

Who am I? not an easy question to answer but I shall oblige as best I can. I am the reflection in the mirror, the voice in the back of your head saying “go ahead no one will ever find out.” I am that hole in the center of you that can never be filled.

I am quite tall and lanky with dark black hair and eyes as blue as the sky. My three piece suit is jet black with shiny black boots and a crimson red tie. Whenever you see me you will be so enamored…

for as long as I can remember I have never liked the person I am. I’ve never felt like I belong anywhere or been able to have many lasting relationships with anyone save a few people. So many of the people I have loved have either died or abandoned me. This probably is because my brain is broken and I’ve known that all my life, I just didn’t know why till was older.
As a child, I remember getting tested a lot by several doctors or people in white coats as I called them. I didn’t know why and no one…

Joker is easily the most divisive and controversial movie of 2019. We’ve all heard the stories surrounding the film. People have already discussed it a lot online about the issues they have with the film. Some worry this will lead to a copycat mass shooter in real life. Others have concerns that the film gives incels something to rally around, and some just have issues with the violence. I think it is interesting how Joker became the most debated movie online before it was even released. Honestly, it probably isn’t the best time for a movie like this to be…

What makes human beings unique? Are we just a collection of memories? And if so can those memories be trusted? These are just some of the questions raised in the highly underrated sci fi classic Dark City. When most people think of a big sci fi movie that makes us question our reality, first thoughts come to The Matrix. But Dark City came out a year before The Matrix, and deals with the themes in a more satisfying way. The film follows John Murdoch, played by Rufus Sewell. Murdoch awakens in a bathtub with total amnesia and the body of…

It’s not easy having a drug addict in the family. My grandfather and my aunt, on my dads side were both alcoholics most of their lives. Thankfully both managed to get sober after years of fighting their pain. My brother is an addict and has constantly brought pain and stress to my family. In high school he drank beer like water, usually consuming an entire 24 pack in one sitting. On one occasion he decided it would be fun to take my car out for a spin while he was drunk. He was 18 at the time and the star…

“In 1946 a man killed five people today he still lurks the streets of Texarkana”. Texas has had its fair share of famous criminals and murders happen in the state. Famous criminals like Clyde Barrow and Bonnie Parker, famous murders like that of President John F. Kennedy. In the year of 1946 the small town of Texarkana on the border of Texas and Arkansas would be plagued by a series of attacks and serial murders carried out by a masked man the local newspapers would dub, the phantom killer. The killers attacks would last between February thru May of 1946…

I love Independent horror, for a few years it was the only place left that well-made horror films were being made. I found this Indie film a few Halloweens ago during the annual after dark horror fest DVD release where amateur filmmakers are giving a modest budget to bring their stories to life. This was one of those random movies I encountered on the now defunct chiller network at one o clock in the morning and I am glad I found it.

Revenge makes for a good story if done right it can give us a badass horror flick like…
